Syron’s War, a Gordon Syron Retrospective opened on 19 March 2026 at Newstead Art in Bondi.
Curated by Djon Mundine the exhibition includes works spanning six decades. The opening, on 19 March 2026 was held at Newstead Art gallery in Bondi Beach. The evening started with a greeting from Adrian Newstead followed by a Welcome by Kacey Blakeney. Dr Jeff McMullen was Master of Ceremonies with an official opening by Professor Jason Rudy. The catalogue features essays by Djon Mundine OAM and Adj. Prof, Margo Ngawa Neale.

The exhibition features some of Syron’s most celebrated works including David Gulpilil AM, 1998 and Judgement by his Peers, 1978.
The exhibition is on until 23 April 2026. Newstead Art, 31 Lamrock Avenue Bondi Beach.
